Enhabit Inc. has named Dale Clift as its new CEO, succeeding Barbara Jacobsmeyer.
The announcement follows closure on Friday of Enhabit’s $1.1 billion acquisition by the private equity firm Kinderhook. The deal took Enhabit off of the New York Stock Exchange as a publicly traded company.
Clift brings decades of home health and hospice experience to Enhabit. He previously served as CEO of Trilogy Home Healthcare. He is also the former CEO of Nurse on Call.
“Dale is a proven leader with deep experience and a strong understanding of the home-based care landscape,” Chris Michalik, managing director at Kinderhook Industries, said in a statement. “His track record of building and scaling high-performing organizations speaks for itself, and we are confident he is the right leader to guide Enhabit forward as the company builds on its strong foundation and continues expanding what’s possible for patient care in the home.”
Texas-headquartered Enhabit has 117 hospice locations and 249 home health locations across 34 states. The company had adjusted EBITDA of $28 million in the fourth quarter, rising 3.7% sequentially and growing 11.6% year over year. Enhabit reported a net service revenue of $270.4 million during that period.
Enhabit’s hospice service revenue reached $63.6 million during Q4 of 2025, which represented a 10% rise compared to the prior year’s same period. Hospice admissions and average daily census (ADC) volumes saw year-over-year increases during the fourth quarter, at 0.8% and 9.9%, respectively. The segment also saw a 0.6% rise in cost per patient day compared to the same period in 2024.
The company’s home health segment also saw growth, with net service revenues around $206.8 million, a 3.2% rise compared to Q4 in 2024. Enhabit’s home health year-over-year admissions grew by 7.3% with ADC also increasing by 6.4% compared to the prior year.
“It is an honor to serve as CEO of Enhabit at such an important time in the company’s journey,” Clift said in a statement. “This is a great organization doing meaningful work, and I am proud to be part of its next chapter. Our people are the heart of Enhabit, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside our talented team as we remain focused on delivering compassionate, high-quality care. I look forward to building on the company’s strong foundation and continuing to support our teams across the country.”
